Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and energetic Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for efficiently processing incoming shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and helping improve the systems and workflows that support our business.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Receive, verify, and process incoming shipments accurately and efficiently.
• Execute excellent merchandising standards across the sales floor and displays.
• Keep shelves full and fresh through consistent, proactive replenishment.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, quality concerns, and processing issues to the Store Manager.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve the efficiency, organization, and accuracy of inventory and merchandising workflows.
• Help maintain organized backstock, storage areas, and inventory systems.
• Assist with special projects and additional store responsibilities as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Receiving & Shipments

• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against packing lists and purchase orders, and flag shortages or damage.
• Enter received inventory, pricing, and product details into company systems accurately.
• Prepare and stage received product for the floor quickly to minimize backstock buildup.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area and dock.

Merchandising Execution

• Execute merchandising standards so product is presented cleanly, logically, and compellingly.
• Build and maintain displays that reflect brand standards and drive discovery.
• Ensure signage, tagging, and pricing are correct and consistent throughout the store.
• Partner with store leadership to refresh floor sets and highlight new arrivals.

Keeping Stock Full & Fresh

• Proactively replenish the floor so shelves stay full throughout the day.
• Rotate stock to keep the assortment fresh and surface newly received product quickly.
• Monitor sell-through and backstock to prevent gaps, overstock, and stale displays.
• Prioritize workflow to keep product moving from receiving to the floor without delay.

Inventory Audits & Accuracy

• Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to verify on-hand accuracy.
• Identify, document, and help resolve discrepancies between system counts and physical inventory.
• Maintain high standards for inventory accuracy, tagging, and categorization.
• Track and communicate audit findings and follow-up needs to the Store Manager.

Process Improvement & Team Support

• Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and organization across receiving, merchandising, and inventory.
• Help develop and maintain systems that support smooth inventory flow and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a productive, positive work environment.
• Uphold company standards for professionalism, customer service, and teamwork.

• Knowledge of outdoor gear, sporting goods, or secondhand retail.
• Experience improving processes or creating organizational systems.
