With the Hults Bruk Grinding Stone you can easily and securely grind your axe wherever you are. The grinding stone is of good size and designed to give a steady grip, protecting fingers and hands from cutting injuries. The elegant case in genuine leather protects your grinding stone, rendering it a long life. The rough side has a grain size of 180, and the fine side a grain size of 600. This is a good combination to regain sharpness to your axe. To make your work easier, Hults Bruk recommends you grind with water. Made in Sweden.

DETAILS

Sharpening: Always hold the axe with a firm grip while sharpening. Adding water to the sharpening process will make the work much easier and prevent the stone from getting filled with residue. To avoid cutting injuries, place your fingers in the groove of the stone and make sure that no other part of your hand protrudes the sharpening surface. Protective gloves are recommended when sharpening your axe.

If the cutting edge of your axe is damaged or worn, start by using the coarse side of the stone. Work your way across the whole convex sharpening bevel using small circular motions. Sharpen both sides of the blade equally, alternating between sides during the process. Lastly, use the fine side of the stone and repeat the procedure. Sharpening an axe requires both skill and time, so be patient. Stay sharp!
